Effects and Usage
Wormwood has anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and detoxifying effects. In cosmetics, it is most commonly found in products for problematic skin with acne or dandruff. It regenerates skin cells and helps prevent hair loss. It has excellent deodorizing properties and is very unpleasant for insects, making it a highly effective natural repellent.
When taken internally, wormwood helps with cramps and digestive issues. It acts against parasites and fungi, supports the immune system, and overall detoxifies the body. It contains the substance thujone, which in larger amounts can cause poisoning, so dosage should be approached with caution and only as recommended. It should never be used during pregnancy.
