Camphor

INCI Cinnamonum camphora
Other names kafrovník lékařský, skořicovník kafrovník, Camphora naturalis raffinata

Description

Camphor essential oil is obtained from the wood, leaves, and bark of the evergreen camphor tree, which originally comes from China, Japan, and Taiwan. This oil oxidizes in the air and turns into solid raw camphor, sometimes known as "Japanese camphor." It has a fresh, spicy scent that is similar to eucalyptus.

Effects and Use

Camphor has stimulating, soothing, healing, analgesic, antiviral, and antibacterial effects. It relaxes muscles, improves blood circulation in the skin, alleviates pain, and is very effective for colds and nasal congestion when used externally. It is suitable for treating frostbite, sore joints, or oily and problematic skin. Aromatherapeutically, it helps with respiratory issues, aids in insomnia, harmonizes, and combats fatigue.
