Description
Ceylon cinnamon is a tree native to Sri Lanka. Its dried bark is known as an aromatic spice - Ceylon cinnamon, which is considered to be the highest quality. It contains cinnamaldehyde, ethylcinnamate, eugenol, coumarin, cinnamic acid, linalool, and safrole. Cinnamon has a very wide range of uses and can be found in food, herbal medicine, cosmetics, perfumery, and pharmaceuticals.
Effects and Uses
Ceylon cinnamon has regenerative, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties. It is suitable for all skin types, including acne-prone skin, which it helps to heal. Due to its warming and circulation-boosting effects, it is often added to anti-cellulite products. It can also be found as an ingredient in toothpaste, as it eliminates unpleasant odors and helps treat inflammation. It also imparts a beautiful scent and color to cosmetic products.
Aromatherapeutically, it strengthens the immune system. When taken internally, it acts as a natural antibiotic and helps alleviate digestive and respiratory issues, as well as reducing pain.
