Loving Care for Demanding Skin
If you have relatively trouble-free skin, you can occasionally afford to skip makeup removal, not wash your face, or use less-than-quality cosmetics. However, problematic, oily, and acne-prone skin requires much more careful attention. We will recommend a few tips and products suitable for this special care.

GET RID OF CHEMICAL COSMETICS
No one should use low-quality cosmetics filled with cheap artificial ingredients or even those that could potentially harm our health, especially not a young person with blemished and acne-prone skin. Examine the ingredients of your current cosmetics and replace the unsuitable items with natural ones.
DON'T OVERDO IT WITH CLEANSING AND EXFOLIATION
Your skin can take care of itself to a large extent, but given today's lifestyle (smog, exhaust fumes, makeup, stress, etc.), we need to help it a little. And that "a little" does not mean that we should wash our skin with aggressive products from morning till night and indulge in three types of masks because "that must definitely work." Be really careful with excessive care in this case. Makeup removal and cleansing are necessary, but you only need natural soap, a makeup remover, a gentle floral water for finishing, and a natural cream or oil. Treat yourself to a face mask/peel once or twice a week.
CONSIDER OTHER CAUSES
The condition of your skin can very likely be influenced by a whole range of "hidden" factors, such as hormonal imbalance, autoimmune diseases, allergies, or intolerances to certain foods, vitamin deficiencies, lack of sleep, stress... So once you fine-tune the right care and it still isn't working, try to dig deeper.
What products do WE AT ALMARA SOAP specifically recommend?
You likely already know that the proper skincare routine involves several steps, and especially for oily skin prone to acne and blemishes, none of them should be overlooked.
Whether in the morning after waking up or (especially) after coming home from school or work, the most important thing is to thoroughly cleanse the skin. Remove dirt, dust, grease, and makeup. For this, the PURE FACE makeup remover combined with lavender or sage floral water works perfectly, followed by (but not necessarily) the BLACK AS MY SOUL soap. We recommend the soap for quick cleansing; it is not intended for makeup removal. You can use the floral water again for finishing.
Immediately after, while the skin is still damp (it can even be wet; a maximum interval of 3 minutes is recommended), it is essential to hydrate the skin. In our case, our perfect oil specially created for oily skin, PURITY, will do the job.
PURITY contains only light, cold-pressed oils – hemp, grape, hazelnut, and argan – which provide problematic skin with the necessary softness and nourishment without weighing it down or causing clogged pores.
The oils are complemented by a unique ingredient, an herbal macerate in sunflower oil from calendula, sage, and thyme, which helps to cleanse the skin, aids with acne, and regulates sebum production, along with tea tree and rosemary essences known for their antibacterial and astringent effects.
Tip: Always apply the oil to damp skin, ideally right after washing or after using our hydrolats. This application method locks moisture into the skin, ensuring the necessary hydration.
As for masks, the clear choice for oily skin is CLEAN FACE BLACK, which, like the BLACK AS MY SOUL soap, relies on the effects of activated charcoal. In addition, it also contains white clay and herbal powders from moringa and nettle. Together, these ingredients perfectly cleanse the skin, are antibacterial, and boast astringent effects.
Question: Are facial oils really suitable for oily skin?
If you have oily skin, you probably avoid oil-based products at all costs. It seems to make sense. Oily skin is often prone to breakouts due to clogged pores caused by excessive sebum production, so avoiding a product that adds another layer of oil seems right.
But what if we told you that oils can actually help oily skin and even completely prevent breakouts?
People with oily skin often feel they must use harsh degreasing products and that they don't need to "oil up" or hydrate because their skin is naturally oily. However, skipping hydration can lead to dehydration and create a vicious cycle of excessive sebum production. Drying products cause the skin to produce more oil and break out to compensate for the lack of moisture.
And this is where facial oils come into play.
Oil attracts oil, so it can help balance the skin and act as a moisturizer. However, it is crucial to use the right types of plant oils, specifically those that are light, not overly greasy, and most importantly, non-comedogenic – meaning they do not clog pores.
There is a comedogenic scale for oils, and at the imaginary zero and one are oils such as jojoba, hemp, grape, argan, or safflower oil.
For oily skin, facial oils can be sufficient for hydration, as they have emollient properties that help soften and smooth the skin. In addition to hydrating the skin, some facial oils can also help with breakouts. The aforementioned plant oils have anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce inflammation during breakouts. There are also oils with a composition similar to human sebum, which can help regulate its production.
Washing your face twice a day, using exfoliating and cleansing masks once a week, and of course hydrating are essential for beautiful and healthy skin.
