Description
The mandarin is the fruit of an evergreen tree or thorny shrub - the common mandarin, which primarily grows in subtropical climates. Essential oil is extracted from its leaves, fruit peels, and bark, which has a fresh, sweet scent and is highly valued in aromatherapy, perfumery, cosmetics, and the food industry. It contains, for example, the antioxidant d-limonene, significant amounts of vitamin C, minerals, organic acids, and bioflavonoids.
Effects and Uses
Mandarin essential oil has antioxidant, antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial, and detoxifying properties. It is particularly suitable for problematic, oily, and mature skin. It regulates sebum production and rejuvenates the skin.
In aromatherapy, it has a calming effect, induces a feeling of happiness, contributes to restful sleep, and relieves muscle tension. It is also a suitable oil for hyperactive children.
