Description

The pansy, also known as the three-colored violet (Viola tricolor), is an annual or perennial herb (types sometimes classified as a separate species Viola saxatilis) from the family Violaceae. It is part of the taxonomically complex Viola tricolor complex. In the Czech Republic, it is a relatively common species found in most areas. It occurs only rarely in the highest mountain regions. It is primarily a field weed. Taxa from the Viola saxatilis group can also be found in more or less natural habitats such as scree, rocks, sands, or mountain meadows.

Usage and Effects

In cosmetics, it is used for its anti-inflammatory and balancing effects on the skin. It treats acne, various types of eczema, skin ulcers, chafing, burns, and is also suitable for seborrheic dermatitis and psoriasis.
