Description
Roman chamomile, scientifically known as Chamaemelum nobile (syn. Anthemis nobilis), also referred to as noble chamomile or Roman chamomile, is aster family plant with medicinal properties. The main active ingredient in the flower heads is a light blue essential oil, similar in composition to that of true chamomile. This, along with bitter compounds, gives the herb its characteristic flavor properties.
