Description
The annual sunflower is a plant that can grow up to 3 meters tall, featuring striking orange-yellow inflorescences. Sunflower seeds are used to produce sunflower oil or sunflower wax. However, its flowers are also utilized in herbalism. They contain the flavonoid quercimeritrin, coumarin glycosides, triterpene saponins, carotenoids, anthocyanins, tannins, choline, betaine, bitter helianthin, and minerals.
Blooming period: June - September.
