Description
The coconut is the fruit of the coconut palm, known scientifically as Cocos nucifera. The nuts typically have a diameter of about 20-30 cm and weigh around 2.5 kg. They are rich in proteins, fats, fatty acids, and antioxidants. The coconut is covered by a brown husk, which is processed into coconut textile fibers, while the inside contains coconut flesh and coconut water. Coconut oil and coconut milk are extracted from the flesh. The flesh is significant in iron, copper, and selenium, as well as magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, and vitamin C. Coconut water is one of the best natural electrolytes (important minerals involved in various metabolic processes in the body) and contains potassium, B vitamins (excluding B6 and B12), and vitamin C. Due to its composition, the coconut is highly valued in both the food and cosmetic industries.
