Description
Lemon eucalyptus originates from Australia, but it now also grows in Guatemala, Colombia, Egypt, South Africa, India, and China. Both Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine have recognized the healing significance of lemon eucalyptus for thousands of years. It has a sweet, lemony scent similar to citronella.
This essential oil, known for its exceptional anti-inflammatory properties, is traditionally used to alleviate joint pain or muscle discomfort in athletes.
Citronella eucalyptus oil, which is strongly antifungal and antiseptic, is used to treat athlete's foot. When diluted in massage oil, it can help soothe sore muscles and joints.
Aromatic oils from the leaves are used in steam inhalation, which helps with nasal congestion, sore throat, and cold symptoms.
Citronella eucalyptus oil is also considered one of the most effective plant-based repellents, providing natural protection against insect bites. It has even been recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as protection against mosquitoes.
Aromatherapeutic properties: The fresh, cooling, lemony scent is energizing, uplifting, and simultaneously relaxing. When used in a diffuser, it serves as a great air freshener.
