Description
Lithothamnium is a seaweed that grows in the cold waters of the Atlantic. It has a pink, red to dark red color and is valued mainly for its high content of calcium, iodine, selenium, zinc, magnesium, and iron. It is most commonly used in cosmetics or as a dietary supplement.
Effects and Uses
The algae Lithothamnium has antioxidant, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is suitable for mature, dry, and problematic skin with eczema or psoriasis, which it helps to heal. It can be used as a smoothing scrub or as part of a bath, where it positively affects bones and joints and helps reduce inflammation.
