Description
Mallow is a perennial herb that can grow up to 150 cm tall, featuring violet-pink flowers that thrive along paths and sidewalks, by walls, in pastures, on wastelands, and in sunny shrubby areas. The active compounds primarily include mucilage, essential oils, and tannins. In herbalism, the leaves, stems, and flowers are collected, but the most effective parts are the flowers.
Harvesting period: leaves and stems June - September, flowers June - August.
Description and Effects
Mallow has anti-inflammatory, regenerative, and antioxidant effects. It is suitable for all skin types, but especially for dry and mature skin, which it helps to hydrate. It reduces the formation of wrinkles, alleviates irritation and itching, and decreases swelling. It has a positive effect on acne, minor wounds, and eczema.
When taken internally, it helps with inflammation of the mucous membranes of internal organs, the stomach, bronchial tubes, oral cavity, or acts against phlegm.
