Description
Meadow clover is a herb that can grow up to 40 cm tall, with white or purple flowers, commonly found in our meadows or pastures. You may have encountered it while searching for luck in the form of a four-leaf clover. Its active ingredients include tannins, glycosides, phenols, coumarins, and mineral acids. It contains flavonoids, phenols, essential oils, vitamins C and E, and especially phytoestrogens, which resemble female hormones.
Blooming period: May - October.
Effects and Uses
Clover has disinfectant, healing, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is suitable for acne-prone, eczema-prone skin or skin that tends to irritation. It helps in the treatment of eczema, rashes, and minor wounds.
When taken internally, clover helps against coughs, diarrhea, and vaginal inflammations, cleanses the blood, and improves digestion. It is an herb often used to alleviate difficulties during menopause or painful menstruation.
