Description

Cananga odorata is a tropical tree native to Asia and Australia, from whose flower the essential oil known as ylang-ylang is extracted. It has an intense floral sweet scent and is a popular ingredient especially in women's perfumes.

Effects and Use

Cananga essential oil has antioxidant, antibiotic, antifungal, and soothing properties. It is suitable for all skin and hair types. It alleviates itching from allergic and eczema-prone skin, regulates sebum production, and provides nourishment, strength, and shine to hair. It helps to heal acne or other minor skin injuries.

In aromatherapy, it calms the nerves, lowers blood pressure and muscle tension, and stimulates libido.
