Description

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) is an evergreen woody herb with beautiful blue-violet flowers and a penetrating scent featuring a strong, fresh, balsamic aroma. It does not grow freely in our region but is widely cultivated in private gardens. In folk medicine, it is known as sea dew and is believed to protect against black magic. It contains essential oils, flavonoids, diterpene bitter compounds, ursolic acid, oleanolic acid, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid, and rosmarinic acid, tannins, and other substances.

Effects and Uses

Rosemary has antibacterial, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is suitable for all skin types, but especially for oily skin with acne, which it helps to cleanse. It regulates sebum production and also has a positive effect on eczema-prone skin. In hair care, it promotes hair growth and reduces hair loss.

Aromatherapeutically, it helps improve mood and alleviates nervous exhaustion. Internally, it is mainly used as a spice and helps with issues related to the female reproductive system or digestive problems. It increases blood pressure.
