Description
Shea butter is a fat obtained from the fruit (nuts) of the shea tree, and if not deodorized, it has a pleasant nutty aroma. It can be nearly white, yellow, or even light brown in color, and its consistency is influenced by the surrounding temperature (it melts at temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius). It contains saturated fatty acids – mainly stearic and oleic acids, vitamin E, triterpene alcohols, and plant sterols.
Effects and Use
High-quality shea butter has healing, anti-inflammatory, nourishing, soothing, and anti-aging properties. It acts as a preventive measure against stretch marks and cellulite. It helps heal cracked and damaged skin and alleviates irritation. It has antifungal properties. It is suitable for all skin types, including very sensitive, children's, eczema-prone, acne-prone, or problematic skin. It is often used as an ingredient in hair masks.
